Maybe the facial region that is most significant for a youthful appearance is the middle third of the face, mainly cheekbones. When this region is lacking volume or descended, an unpleasant double contour under lower eyelids is formed, as well as deep lip cheek grooves. Then a cheek mound lift or cheekbone contouring (with fat or implants) or both is the procedure of choice.

This can be performed through lower eyelid incisions or small temple incisions.

When there is excessive cheek roundness due to excess fat, this fat can be suctioned trough very little incisions inside your mouth, then diminishing facial roundness and helping define cheekbones. This procedure is known as Bichectomy.
